Modern auto marketing is about guns, transparent cars, and rap.

“This one goes out to all you minivan families out there”, shouts the new Toyota made YouTube rap hit. Creatives at Saatchi & Saatchi LA have created a Sienna Family concept, that succeeds in the impossible – putting pride and street credibility into owning a minivan. All the moms and dads in the suburbia, let me hear you say yeah!

Swagger Wagon rides the comedy rap wave that has produced so many hits in the past. I believe it all started with the Prep-Unit rocking the Tea Party for Smirnoff.

Audi, on the hand, creates credibility for their up-and-coming Audi A1 with indie rock, blazing guns, and Justin Timberlake, with a mini web-TV series The Next Big Thing. (But, honestly don’t spend too much time on the campaign site, but check the next Lexus site.) Here’s the first 2 minute episode:

Lexus trusts in an immersive experience with very new Dark Ride campaign. Facebook connect and web cams utilized on the game site, check it out. (via The book of revelations blog). The site is very cool!

The final video isn’t a car ad at all, but I wanted to post it anyway – because if someone builds a transparent car, they deserve a little link love. This is the making of Shell Helix Ultra Transparent Car.

Disclaimer, I live downtown and don’t own a car.
